Advent is a special time in the life of the church family. As we anticipate the coming of the Christ Child there are many events and activities to help enhance this time!
The pastors, staff and made of our church members have worked together to create an Advent Devotional. Hard copies are available in the worship space at Memorial or you can download an electronic copy HERE.
The congregation is invited to celebrate our special Advent tradition Dec 1st at 12:15PM in Maxwell Hall. Each household group will be given a kit including candles, ribbons, and greenery to make an Advent Wreath for their home. These wreaths help mark time as we lead up to Christmas and bring some of the traditions from worship into our homes.
Blue Christmas worship reminds us that the Christ child comes as a sign of hope, even in the face of uncertainty or despair. This peaceful worship, in Memorial’s Sanctuary, begins at 6:00PM and is co-hosted by St. Peter’s, First Presbyterian, Macedonia AME, & Trinity. Rev. Gary Hutchinson will be preaching. Extend an invitation to someone you might know who may benefit from this beautiful, healing service. (There will be no Taizé worship in December.)
Each year, the United Methodist Women at Memorial host No Room at the Inn, a free display of hundreds of nativity scenes from the personal collections of our congregation. Nativities are on display Friday and Saturday from 10:00AM - 4:00PM.
Come to Memorial and enjoy a performance by a group consisting of four different choruses singing favorite Christmas songs Sunday, December 8th at 7:00PM in the Sanctuary. The groups from Camden County consist of: The Camden County High School Chorus, The Camden Women’s Chorus, Volume One, and Bella Voce. The concert is free and a love offering will be collected for The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).
Between the 8:000AM and 11:00AM services on Dec. 15th, the Alternative Christmas Mission Fair will be in Maxwell Hall and continue until Noon. Learn about Memorial-supported missions and assist them through a donation in honor of friends or loved ones. Kids will have a scavenger hunt teaching them about our Memorial-supported Missions
