Ways to Serve at Memorial

Contact Karen Schmitt, New Member Coordinator, for information regarding most current needs, or to match your spiritual gifts and skills to service opportunities.


Administrative Committees: There are many opportunities to serve in a leadership role on a committee or work group in the church. Each one meets regularly throughout the year.


Children and Youth Program Volunteers:  Variety of opportunities to serve as Sunday School teachers and assistants, small group leaders, prepare dinner for youth group, etc.  (Pastor Carrie)


Congregational Engagement:  Assist with matching both new and long-time attenders to study and service opportunities.  (Karen Schmitt)

 

Congregational Care Team: Help support and encourage members of MUMC who are in the hospital, recovering from an illness, or homebound. (Pastor Drew)


F-Troop:   Assist with setting up chairs and tables for events and worship or help with other maintenance projects here at the church.  (Johnny Armstrong, 904-838-8670)


Greeters:   Provide a warm welcome at worship and other special events.  


Hospitality: Provide food and decorations for MUMC meetings and special events.  (Pastor Drew)


Lamb Early Education Center:   Variety of volunteer opportunities within our church preschool in the education wing of MUMC (Renee Wise, 904-261-5301)


 MUMC Quilters:   Group which gathers with their sewing machines once a month to make quilts for MUMC missions.  


Pray:   Join our Prayer Team for their weekly, Tuesday morning meeting as they pray for our church, community, and world. 


Prayer Shawl Ministry:  Gathers to make prayer shawls for those who are ill, mourning, or going through transitions. Meets monthly, each third Tuesday.  


Sunday Fellowship:  Prepare refreshments for 9:00AM and 10:30AM coffee and donuts fellowship.  (Pastor Drew)


Teaching:   We are always in need of teachers for Sunday School and small groups of all ages. (Pastor Carrie)
